Important Fraud Alert: Identity Impersonation
Please read this before responding to anyone claiming to represent us.
What is happening
We have become aware that unknown individuals are impersonating Burcu Akyol, RCIC-IRB, and Northern Pathways Immigration Consulting.
These individuals are using our company name, website, professional credentials, and other publicly available information to make their communications appear legitimate. In some cases, they have also used fake identification cards, fraudulent employment and LMIA documents, and fake Canadian work permits.
They have contacted people through WhatsApp and other online platforms, offering jobs, promising immigration opportunities, requesting personal documents, and asking for payment.
Please be aware
- Northern Pathways Immigration Consulting does not have agents or representatives anywhere in the world.
- Our only office is in Toronto, Canada.
- The services we provide are listed on our official website.
- We do not offer employment or recruitment services or arrange job offers.
- LMIAs are issued by the Government of Canada to eligible employers, and buying or selling an LMIA is illegal.
- No one can guarantee the approval of a visa, work permit, or permanent residence application. These decisions are made solely by the Government of Canada.
- We do not communicate with prospective clients through WhatsApp.
- We do not request payment before a service agreement has been signed.

If you receive a message claiming to be from us and are unsure whether it is genuine, do not send money or personal documents. Contact us directly before taking any action.

We can confirm whether the communication is genuine and, where appropriate, provide written confirmation that neither Burcu Akyol nor Northern Pathways Immigration Consulting has any connection to the individuals or documents involved. You may use this confirmation when reporting the matter to your local authorities.
